Factory 289-4V A code, four speed, Rally Pack, disc brake car.
Stunning color combination of Honey Gold paint (code C) with Ivy Gold interior (code 28).
The door tag confirms the rare factory options and paint/interior color combination.
Rare factory options include: A code 289-4V motor, Rally Pack, front disc brakes, and top loader four speed.
This car has only 126,800 original miles.
I purchased this car from the second owner who lived in Arizona.
The car was originally sold new in Utah to the original owner.
Being a Utah/Arizona car the body is very dry and has never had any rust.
Full bare metal window out paint job to its factory original color.
Near mint original interior.
A lot of time and money has gone into the preservation of this low mile survivor.
MOTOR- Approx 20k miles on rebuilt original (A-code) 289-4V motor. Headers with H pipe exhaust. New dual flow master mufflers, tail pipes, hangars, and tips. The car sounds awesome with the deep throaty tones of the exhaust. New aluminum radiator (comes with original), Edelbrock Performer intake manifold (comes with original), Holley Street Avenger four barrel carburetor, water pump, fuel pump, gas lines, fan, chrome valve covers (comes with original), and air cleaner (comes with original). Fresh complete tune up including, plugs, coolant flush, oil change, spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, belts, radiator hoses, ect. The motor starts immediately and sounds awesome. 50 lbs. oil pressure at idle. I only use non ethanol fuel only.
TRANSMISSION & DIFFERENTIAL- Original rear end. 3.00 gear ratio with limited slip. Original four speed top loader transmission. Upgraded Hurst shifter with new shift bushings. Fresh transmission and differential service. The transmission shifts tight, crisp and precise through all gears.
ELECTRICAL- New battery, alternator, high torque starter, coil, pick up coil, voltage regulator, electronic ignition, ignition module, starter solenoid, and ignition switch. All of the electrical is in good working order. The fuel gauge, volt, water temp, and oil pressure gauges all work. The dash lights, radio, dome light, interior lights, blinkers, all lights, ect. work properly.
PAINT/BODY- According to the second owner, both he and the original owner always kept the car garaged. This is evident as the original interior is in pristine condition. The body and undercarriage is in exceptional preserved condition with no rust. The car received a full bare metal repaint in 2013. The car was repainted its original color of Honey Gold. The car has been driven approximately 1500 miles since its repaint. The body was completely disassembled. The doors, hood, trunk, bumpers, trim, glass, ect. were removed. New windshield and all window, body, and door rubber seals. The door jambs, interior side of the doors, and trunk area were all repainted as well. The paint job cost over $12,000. New front and rear bumpers (originals included). GT fog lights. The undercarriage has been preserved exceptionally well by the factory installed undercoating. The undercarriage, original floors, rockers, ect. are pristine/rust free.
INTERIOR- Near mint original interior (Ivy Gold). The interior is all original with the exception of the front seat upholstery. I just had the front seats professionally redone with exact reproduction seat upholstery and padding. New aluminum seat side trim and sill plates. I replaced the original seat belts with Shelby style racing lap belts (very similar to the belts in my 66 Shelby). Updated wood steering wheel, new rubber floor mats. The original rear seat upholstery, carpet, visors, dash, door panels, and headliner are in near mint condition.
SUSPENSION/WHEELS/TIRES- New rear leaf springs, upgraded performance shocks front and rear. All of the front end bushings, upper and lower ball joints were replaced. Chrome strut tower brace. Fresh alignment. The brand new BF Goodrich tires (215/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear) give this car a perfect stance. Brand new 7x15 inch front and 8x15 inch rear chrome Magnum 500 wheels and center caps. The car handles like a sports car, the steering and suspension is tight.
OTHER- New gas tank, fuel sender, heater core, heater blower motor, and heater box seal. All of the door and trunk locks work.
This is a very rare optioned Mustang. Very few were ordered with these options and in this color combinations. Factory A code, disc brakes, Rally Pack, and a four speed top loader. Essentially this Mustang has the same options as a GT. I never thought I would consider selling this Mustang, however I also have a 1966 Shelby GT 350 in my collection. Many hours and thousands of dollars have gone into the preservation of this low mile survivor. Serious buyers only. This is a very reliable, solid, and good driving car. The Mustang runs, drives, handles, and looks exceptional. Clean Washington title.
*** PLEASE NOTE *** I have all of the stock parts that were removed from the car. The original parts included with the sale of the car include: radiator, 4V intake, hub caps, valve covers, air cleaner, radiator over flow bag, bumpers, and front seat belts.
