1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454

A true documented (build sheet) SS (Z15) option with optioned (ZL2) vacuum operated air induction hood, presented in correct Muslanne Blue/White stripe exterior, white vinyl roof and parchment interior.
This Chevelle has been “resto modded” to improve performance, handling, and driveability.
An intensive rebuild/replacement of most mechanical, drivetrain, and all systems was performed during a 2 year period from 2012 to 2014.

Engine: A replacement GM crate ZZ454, aluminum heads, 7 qt. Milodon oil pan, HEI ignition, Holley carb, dual plane intake, roller cam, producing 475 HP and 520 ft lbs torque. The engine bay has been sanitized with hidden lines (air, heat, etc) and wiring for a very clean look with intensive chrome and polish components. Polished serpentine accessory drives. All visible lines and hoses are braided stainless.

Exhaust: Hedman equa length ceramic coated headers, 3 inch exhaust and CPT electronic cut outs, X-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.

Transmission: A heavily modified (600+ HP) 7004r (replaced late 2018)with a mild 2000 rpm stall, supplemental transmission cooler.

Rear End: A rebuilt GM 12 bolt with replaced 3.42 gears and posi. Cooling: A custom Griffin “Mega Cool” polished aluminum radiator and dual Spal fans. This setup keeps this at an even 180-185 operating temp with a max of 190 with air con on at 95+ degree days in city traffic.

Suspension: Complete rebuild of all front suspension and steering components. Modified with HD tubular control arms, sway bars, CPP 50004 series moderately quick ratio steering box (power steering, tilt column), UMI performance rear control arms. Rear air shocks. All bushings and wear components replaced.

Brakes: Wilwood front discs, ceramic pads, drums rear, power. Vintage air heating and cooling.

Wheels/tires: 17” American Racing wheels with 245/50/17 tires.

Most all engine, drivetrain, and operating systems have been upgraded and modified with high end components.
The undercarriage is clean with absolutely no rust.
Paint is a 2-stage base-clearcoat, cut and buffed for a flawless finish.
This beautiful car has that distinctive Muslanne Blue exterior with white stripes and white roof that is a great combination.
It drives wonderfully with tight and positive steering feel unlike most stock 60s to 70s era GM vehicles.
The overdrive transmission actually allows quite reasonable gas mileage at cruise speeds.
The exhaust tone is very mild in the interior, and if you want to be rowdy there's always the switch for the electronic cut-outs.
And then of course there's the mega torque of that new big block, nothing else quite like it.
This car was ordered with the SS option (Z15), cowl induction hood (ZL2), Posi rear axle (G80), Performance Suspension (F41), white hood and deck paint stripes, white vinyl roof, Muslanne Blue exterior, console, bucket seats, and tilt steering wheel.

There is extensive documentation on virtually every component changed or restored.
Thousands of receipts and product documentation are organized in 8 folders of subject matter.
There is a stack of over a foot tall of all the documentation and receipts of the build components for this car.
