$750.00 1947 Ford 1 Ton Rolling Chassis You are looking at a duplicate frame to the 1947 Ford 1 ton truck I purchased that is currently outfitted with a mid-'30s tanker that held fuel oil. The previous owner told me that he and his father bought a '47 Ford truck, new in 1947, and he once hauled 28K lbs. of wheat to market. I have no idea what the weight capacity could be for this dual axle rolling chassis but based on my reading re: tiny houses and their construction on a frame adequate for their finished weight, this rolling chassis might provide you an answer to a chassis that would be more than beefy enough to haul your house around the country. If you are an outside the box type of thinker then give consideration to this being your solution to which frame to use for your build. This chassis is 18' long and I would think with some engineering it could be adapted for a bumper pull hitch, a gooseneck, or 5th wheel hitch. Of course consult with someone you trust that is skilled in welding, Gross Vehicle Weight Capacity (G.V.W.R.), what your tiny home weight is expected to be, etc. If you are reading this posting because you have a '47 Ford truck body that needs a rolling chassis then you can be the best judge as to how this chassis will meet your needs. I spoke to a local tire co. and have been told that the duals will need to be changed out to be compliant with U.S. safety laws. My expectation of cost for my truck is $2 - $3.5K for new wheels and tires (6 tires). You would need to pick it up or I would attempt to help you have it transported to your location.
