1935 Plymouth Woody
Here is a one-of-a-kind 'phantom' 1935 Plymouth woody wagon.
It was created by combining original steel body parts with a custom wood body.
This is listed for a friend, a professional craftsman who has previously built other woodies from different bodies with similar construction, all labors of love which yield genuine works of art. It's full of typical modern street rod components for power, convenience and safety.
Car is located at Qualicum Beach, BC in Canada.
The chassis was stretched to make it a roomy four-door, with adequate cargo area behind the rear seat.
It's powered by a fuel injected LT-1 350 Chevrolet V8 (5.7 liter) coupled to a 4L60-E automatic overdrive transmission.
Front suspension is an aftermarket Mustang II independent setup with power rack and pinion steering and power disc brakes, rear suspension has parallel leaf springs and a Ford differential with 3.50 gearing.
It has old-school chrome Cragar mag wheels with BF Goodrich radials.
Interior features include Dakota Digital VHX series electronic gauges.
All four doors have power windows and frankly, the headliner – which is all strips of wood running from front to back – looks absolutely stunning.
Roof is covered with a tan German convertible top cloth.
It has bucket seats up front and a bench back seat with all kinds of leg room.
There's also a Grant banjo steering wheel with a tilt column.
Insurance appraised at $159,000 CDN. Asking $105 K CDN / $85 K US.
Please don't hesitate to ask for more information or details on anything.
This is an exceptional looking and very driveable unique piece of automotive sculpture unlike anything you will find elsewhere.
