1956 Pontiac Safari Wagons (Selling as a Pair)

These are presently 'non-runners'.

About 10 years back I embarked on a gift for my wife's upcoming retirement gift. I have always loved Pontiac Safari wagons so that lead me to come up with the idea of a his & hers set. I located 2 excellent frame off candidates and each of them came with the same stock paint colors only they were reversed. My intention was to keep hers perfectly stock while my wagon would be a resto-mod build. I spent a year at my leisure gathering various parts and pieces.

Just before I was to begin the project(s), destiny stepped in and provided for me a chance to build her a '63 Corvette convertible instead. I did just that and am nearing the end of that frame off build. In addition to the 'Vette I am now half way finished doing a frame off '69 Chevy pickup build as well. In addition to those projects I also have a two door '55 Chevy wagon which is also a frame off. I detail these only to make this point....I am done with frame off builds therefore it's time to find a new home for these wagons.

I am holding out hope in finding someone interested in following up on my original idea of building and owning the pair as they are very unique and would more than likely draw crowds anywhere they go.

Instead of me detailing the positive (and negative) aspects of each wagon I have instead created a very detailed PDF file which details both wagons leaving out nothing. I doubt anyone would have any questions about both once they have read this "report". If you have an interest in these wagons please email me and I will email you the information.

Should I fail to locate one person interested in taking both wagons I will then be forced to break them up and send them off in 2 different directions.

One set of fun facts....during the Tri-five years Chevrolet built approximately 22,000 Nomads while Pontiac produced only 9,000 Safaris. The Safari is basically an upgraded Nomad. More chrome and stainless, leather interior, 4 speed automatic transmissions, larger engines, great dashboards, carpeted cargo areas etc. The tailgate, lift gate, glass and doors are identical and their parts interchange between Chevy and Pontiac. Given their condition, if these were Nomads they would be selling for $25,000 each.

Lastly, these wagons have been kept undercover since I've owned them. Please contact me for any reason...thanks!
