1956 Continental Mark II

For sale is #C5681015 of the 3000 ‘56-’57 Continental Mark II’s built.
Approximately 1500 are known to still exist.
The 1015 indicates it was the 15th off the line in August of 1955.
A few other special cars were made before #1000.

This car has recently had a new Deep Red paint job and new grey upholstery. It has a new exhaust system. I have replaced all vacuum lines, the 3 heater valves, and two broken cables to get the heat and A/C working. I swapped in a two speed 12 v wiper motor and a Retro/Classic AM/FM radio. Wheels have been replaced by a past owner with chrome wire wheels and Coker tires manufactured 35th week of 2013, with about 8k miles. I installed front disc brakes and a dual power master cylinder. The engine has been rebuilt 2.5 times, and runs like a top. 

Almost all original parts come with the car. This Mark may not be for the restoration patrol head. The last looker was informed that it doesn't have the correct radiator cap, fan belts, battery, etc. This is more for the collector who just wants a piece of American history and a car that they can safely drive.

I haven't found any sign of rust or body repair. It's a beautiful car for being 65 years old. A great deal of documentation came with the car. This includes all the owners and what they did except for the first one. A couple of past owners tried really hard to determine if this car, which was sold in NY, was the one owned by Henry Clay Ford and was shown at the NY Auto Show. The vin plate indicates it was a special order.
