The perfect hybrid (before that term had an environmental meaning) was the highly successful Chevrolet design that mated the front end of the Chevelle with a pickup bed.
The El Camino blends style and functionality in an attractive, useful package that today still has legions of followers.
The El Camino offered for sale is a custom built, mildly modified restoration, just finished, with only 13 miles on the odometer.
Manufactured on the Los Angeles assembly line 52 years ago, this is a rust free, fully reconditioned, freshly painted, like new desert vehicle undisturbed by age.
This little hauler runs a newly rebuilt 400 CID Chevy small block engine with forged pistons, a performance cam, and roller rockers that makes over 300 horsepower.
The TH350 automatic transmission has been rebuilt and features a 2800 stall converter.
With big 3 inch exhaust pipes and FlowMaster mufflers, it brags it has the Heartbeat of America with a throaty exhaust sound.
While some may prefer the big block Super Sport models with brute power, those are nice rides to look at, or to drive to car shows, but a gas guzzling rat motor ain’t that practical when it comes to daily driving.
Instead, this El Camino is a great looking machine with plenty of go power, and gobs of torque – but it’s the kind of ride that anyone can drive every day.
It is equipped with factory air conditioning that blows cold, a tilt steering column, and a vinyl bench seat that allows three passengers to ride in this hauler.
The plush loop pile carpet, headliner, interior trim and instruments are all in great condition.
Coated in a beautiful, rich, Cobalt Blue basecoat/clearcoat paint, it is an eye catching classic that will hold its own at any car show.
The cargo bed is lined to allow this car/truck to do its thing – packing stuff around.
With adjustable air shocks aft, power steering, and power disc brakes the handling is easy.
And, the tires are fresh, like the rest of the car.
