1947 Mercury Convertible
Full Custom Show Car & Street Racer Project.
BODY: Nice rust free straight body that is completely modified with everything shaved, molded in fenders, custom frenched-in lighting and license plate, pancaked hood, hidden door hinges, electric door poppers, chopped top, full radius trunk, custom integral front and rear bumper skirts, custom shark tooth grill, custom cowl/windshield and wipers, custom tubs and fender wells. It has power front windows but does not have functioning rear quarter windows. Trunk mounted fuel cell and battery. Most of the wiring is fine but it will require some repair and completion. It will need a new battery. The car will need some body work and paint. There is some cracking of the original metalized filler in a few places, a dent in the passenger side of the front bumper, and minor defects in the hood metal. It will also need new door mirrors.
TOP: Custom tan colored Hartz cloth top fabric. The custom bows will need adjustment to fit and close correctly. It will need some latch hardware to connect to the windshield frame top. It may also need a pair of hydraulic cylinder actuators made with the correct open-close length. Some back snap buttons will need replacing but are included.
DRIVE TRAIN: Very rare 1968 Corvette big block 427 engine modified with cam, roller rockers, MSD ignition, headers, rare Edelbrock Angle-Torker intake and 750 cfm carb, high-po heads. The intake and engine accessories are all show quality polished alloy. They were removed for detailing and will need to be re-assembled. The headers are ceramic coated. The custom exhaust system is all new 3" stainless steel including hardware. Everything but the downpipes is included. A new chrome cooling fan with custom made shroud is included. AN stainless steel lines and fittings are included for accessories and heater connections. Re-painting of the engine compartment will need to be finished. The trans is a built Turbo-400 with B&M shifter. The drive shaft is custom made and includes a frame safety loop. The rear end is a narrowed 9" Ford with 31 spline heavy axels and a 411 Detroit Locker differential. Finned aluminum show cap is included.
FRAME & CHASSIS: The frame is full custom, boxed and cross-membered. The rear end includes a Pro-Street Art Morrison suspension with ladder bars, panhard bar, coil over adjustable shocks, and Wilwood disc brakes. Cables will be needed to complete the parking brakes. The front clip is an aftermarket "Fat-Man" unit with tubular A-arms, coil over shocks, and alloy Mustang II power rack & pinion steering. A few years ago, underside restoration was started but never finished. The back section frame, suspension, and fender wells were cleaned, detailed, and painted. The front section will need the same treatment.
INTERIOR: The interior is tan leather with black carpet. It is not perfect but does show well. The front seat is a power bench style. It has a custom tilt steering column with Grant alloy wheel. The dash looks good and features custom gauges and switches. A new glove box is included but will need to be installed.
WHEELS & TIRES: Center-Line Drag-Star aluminum wheels. The rears will need some deep polishing to remove some pitting. Mickey-Thompson Sportsman pro-street tires, bigs and littles. The 15" wide rears look good but the fronts will most likely need replacing.
SALE: Would like a quick sale. Best offer over $20K. The drive train alone is worth the reserve. This could once again be a very high dollar machine after restoring. Some detail and assembly work plus body and paint to complete. Keep it to enjoy, or flip it for a profit.
