HIGHLIGHTS: Award Winning Car Tasteful and Detailed Restomod Less Than 2,000 Miles Since Completion Ready for Show, Drive, or Tour

This 1949 Ford has undergone a no expense spared restoration and modification program. Restored the to highest levels, this build was a source of immense pleasure for the owner, as he oversaw every step of the process. The details on this car are "show" level throughout and the car has gathered up 26 awards to prove that.

Beginning with the foundation, the ladder frame was stripped, and powder coated after measuring it to verify trueness throughout. All suspension components were refurbished for cosmetics and new bushings fitted. Upgraded sway bars were fitted front and rear, along with 2” drop rear leaf springs and 2” drop front spindles. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes up front and upgraded drums out back, with an under the floor pedal assembly and master cylinder with power booster and remote reservoir. 15”x5” Ford chrome rims are wrapped with 670R15 Classic radials with white-walls.

The engine is a thoroughly warmed-over example of the iconic Flathead. Bored and stroked, the displacement is now 284ci, with Ross Pistons and a Scat crankshaft. Featuring stainless steel valves, Edelbrock Aluminum cylinder heads, Schneider camshaft, Holley carburetor, Johnson adjustable hollow valve lifters, MSD ignition, and on and on….the full engine build list is available on request. The engine provides a wonderful rumble on idle, and plenty of power to enjoy a drive anywhere. The cooling system is dialed-in with all the right parts, and the car does not mind traffic one bit (and the driver will be welcomed with all the comments and thumbs up while in traffic!). Dual exit exhaust with Smithy mufflers and ceramic coated headers make sure things look and sound correct.

Power is applied to the rear wheels through a new 26 spline Ford C-4 transmission. Shifting is handled by a Lokar unit with the C-4 kickdown kit installed as well. The rear end is a Ford 8” unit with a 2.73 ratio, fully rebuilt and balanced.

The body was completely stripped while off the frame, epoxy primed, and hundreds of hours were spent making everything flat and straight before paint. Door handles were shaved, front and rear bumperettes removed, all trim, seals, and rubber are new. Correct ’49-‘51 back-up lights were fitted. The bodywork and paint were all completed to a show standard, with the details and hardware fitted with exacting care. The condition of the paint and body are near flawless.

Inside the car, the interior was custom trimmed to match. Everything is new or restored to a like new state. Dakota Digital provides the instrumentation and clock duties, while a custom amplified period radio handles the AM/FM needs with a hidden antenna. Custom 2 speed windshield wipers are fitted, although the car has yet to be driven in inclement weather! However, there is a Vintage Air Bi-Level heater to keep you warm, and the windows clear, on chilly morning drives.

The car has completed approximately 2,000 miles since completion. The owner/builder was fastidious in his care of the car and has taken great pleasure in the build and the documentation of it. It is fully sorted now, and ready for the next chapter. The car has won numerous awards in local shows for everything from best paint, to interior, to overall show winner.

Offered on a clean and clear WA title, this 1949 Ford comes with a fully documented build book of the restoration, all restoration parts manuals, numerous period workshop manuals, a decent selection of spare parts, as well as a car cover.
